L. Albertson Huber Collection

Delaware Bay Museum & Folklife Center Founding Collection

200301130This collection of original artifacts gifted by Mr. Huber is truly the foundation of the Delaware Bay Museum & Folklife Center.  His generosity in donating items that he spent a lifetime collecting allowed the original museum to open in 1991. Today, many of these artifacts are one of a kind, rare or hard to find. To date, his collection is the largest received by the museum. Not only was Mr. Huber a collector, he was an early supporter of the Delaware Bay Schooner Project (now Bayshore Center at Bivalve). Believing in the cause, he did an amazing job fundraising and membership development to open doors and allow the organization to succeed. Mr. Huber was well-known and spent his career as a surveyor of the “oyster grounds.”
