Andrew Lewis
The story of the Bayshore marshland is, in many ways, reflective of the story of America — a landscape in constant flux, its resources as bountiful as they are fragile. In this talk, Lewis will discuss our long history with the Bayshore marshland — from the industries and communities that rose from it, to the many threats it faces today. Through it all, the Bayshore’s legacy has been one of resilience, embodied by both its human and animal inhabitants — a legacy that’s more important than ever as we continue to move onward through this uncertain century.
The Bayshore Center at Bivalve gladly presents the Delaware Bay Speaker Series, happening every Saturday at the Bayshore out on our lovely docks. Various intellectuals who deeply connect to the culture and vitality of the Delaware Bay will be sharing stories about all the bay has to offer and what we must do to preserve it.
